<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus equipped with a grip which has outward appearance design and robustness. <P>SOLUTION: A 1st grip 203 is fixed to an outer surface 202a of a side plate 202 with a screw. The 1st grip is tightly fixed to an outer surface 204a of a side plate 204 with a screw as well. A finger is inserted into its recessed part 203a to lift it. An exterior cover 302 has a 2nd grip 303 formed to grip the 1st grip 203 at the same while the exterior cover 302 is fitted outside the side plate 202.
