PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design support device displaying a range allowing a design change to allow a designer to evaluate validity of a design. SOLUTION: Shape data on a product, and initial condition data on the product including analysis conditions, design element information and required performance value information are inputted. By use of the inputted shape data and initial condition data, at least one of structural analysis and thermal analysis of the product is executed to acquire analysis result data. An optimum value of a size value is calculated in each design element of the product such that an obtained actual performance value of the product is brought close to an inputted required performance value. By use of the optimum value calculated by the optimization calculation and required performance value information, a change range of the size value of each the design element is determined such that required performance is satisfied, and the determined change range of the size value is displayed.
