PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage system including the ability to move a group of virtual storage devices without moving data and capable of easily optimizing performance with regard to periodic changes of requirements. SOLUTION: The storage system 100 includes: a plurality of storage arrays 104; a plurality of controllers 102; a network fabric 108 for selectively connecting the plurality of controllers 102 to each of the plurality of storage arrays 104; and a processor 614 capable of moving, depending not on data but on management information transferred, control related to the elements of a group of positions in the plurality of storage arrays and/or the function of transferring data.
