<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device which can securely transmit information using a light signal emitted by an LED lamp, with an illumination means equipped besides the illumination means of the LED lamp. <P>SOLUTION: An infrared signal reception part 9 receives an information transmitting-requiring signal from a transmitting-side device 200; then, a control part 3 converts the information read out from a memory part 4 into a serial communication signal S2, and outputs to a modulation circuit part 5; and the modulation circuit part 5 modulates a power supplied to the LED lamp 6 in accordance with the modulated signal produced in accordance with the serial communication signal S2, and modulation-lights the LED lamp 6. Then, the LED lamp 6 emits the modulated illumination light (light signal), and a reception-side device 300 receives the light signal, thereby receiving fixture information and position information and the like.
