PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel discrimination device for surely discriminate kinds of fuel. SOLUTION: In the fuel discrimination device, electrodes 22a, 22b are attached to appropriate two points of the inside 2b of a lower part of a fuel tank 2. A control circuit 23 estimates electric resistances between the electrodes 22a, 22b for the case where possible kinds of fuel that can be stored in the fuel tank 2 is actually housed in the fuel tank 2, and stores the estimation results. Then, the control circuit 23 actually measures the electric resistance between the electrode 22a, 22b when the fuel F to be discriminated is stored in the fuel tank 2, and collates the actual measurement value with the estimation results, so as to determine the kind of the fuel F and output the determination result to an ECU 8 for an engine control.
