An electrically controlled braking system includes a control unit and first and second brake components responsive to control signals indicative of demand for braking generated by the control unit. A first control network electrically connects the control unit and the first brake component, and is adapted to transmit the control signals from the control unit to the first brake component. A second control network electrically connects the control unit and the second brake component, and is adapted to transmit the control signals from the control unit to the second brake component. An auxiliary control link to electrically connects the first control network and the second control network, the auxiliary control link being adapted to transmit the control signals between the first control network and the second control network when a failure occurs in one of the first control network or the second control network.
