<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video image coding technique capable of reducing load of a CPU required for control of a variable length coding device. <P>SOLUTION: This video image coding instrument includes a motion compensation (MC) block which calculates mean absolute deviation (MAD) of the present macroblock, a control part wherein an amount of beat of the present macroblock is predicted based on the mean absolute deviation (MAD) and quantization parameter (QP), and propriety of ending of a video packet is controlled, and a variable length coding (VLC) block which performs movement prediction and texture coding, and performs packing to all macroblocks in a video packet by control of the control part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
