PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle sensor for accurately calculating the absolute angle of a steering shaft. SOLUTION: This rotation angle sensor 1 is equipped with a larger rotating magnet 11, rotating with a larger rotary gear 23, a smaller rotating magnet 13 rotating with a smaller rotary gear 24, a magnetic sensor 12 for larger rotation detection to detect the rotation angle of the rotating magnet 11, a magnetic sensor 14 for smaller rotation detection, to detect a rotation angle of the rotating magnet 13, and a microcomputer 15 for calculating the rotation angle of the steering shaft 22, based on the rotation angle detected by the magnetic sensor 12 for larger rotation detection and on the rotation angle, detected by the magnetic sensor 14 for smaller rotation detection. Here, the least common multiple LCM becomes equal to or larger than the steering angle measurement range of the cycle c1 of the magnetic sensor 12, for larger rotation detection and the cycle c2 of the magnetic sensor 14 for smaller rotation detection.
