PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image processing technique, capable of performing saturation enhancement with natural balance between color components with small amount of computation. SOLUTION: An image processor is provided inside an image display device or is constituted as a device which supplies display image data to an external image display device and performs saturation enhancement of inputted image data. More specifically, saturation information is extracted from the inputted image data, and an amount of the saturation enhancement is determined. In addition, the color components for performing the saturation enhancement are extracted from the inputted image data. Then, the saturation enhancement to each color component is performed, based on the determined amount of the saturation enhancement. The saturation enhancement is performed, after adjusting the amount of the saturation enhancement for the predetermined color components. As the color components included in the inputted image data, for example, Cb and Cr in a YCbCr color space can be cited. For the predetermined color components, color balance of the image data, after the saturation enhancement, is appropriately adjusted by adjusting the amount of the saturation enhancement, and natural image data are obtained.
