The invention relates to a method for the disinfection of teats or udders of mammals, whereby the teats or udder are treated after the milking process with a disinfecting composition in the form of a foam. Said composition comprises the following components: a) a polyvinyl alcohol polymer and/or copolymer and/or other barrier-forming agents, b) an ether carboxylic acid, c) a disinfecting agent and d) one or more detergents as foaming agent. The invention further relates to a foam composition which can find application in the above method. |
