PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator, reducing the amount of power consumed by increasing the radiating capability of a condenser to improve the COP of cooling cycle. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator, the condenser 143 is provided in a machine room 140, a blower 142 for ventilating the condenser is provided. In the condenser 143, pipes 151 having a number of fins 150 are superimposed at spaces to form a substantially cylindrical internal space 152. The blower 152 is disposed opposite to one 153 of openings at both ends of the substantially cylindrical internal space 152, and the ventilation resistance between the other opening 153b and the internal space 152 is set larger than that between the gap between the pipes and the internal space 152, whereby the ventilation between the internal space 152 and the outside through the gap between the pipes is accelerated to forcedly cool the condenser 143 so that the thermal efficiency of the condenser 143 becomes higher and the radiating capability of the condenser 143 increased to reduce the compression ratio, heighten the COP of system, and reduce the amount of power consumed of the refrigerator 101.
