PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for measuring slag temperature allowing to stably measure correct temperature and to easily check the field of view for an object to be measured. SOLUTION: The slag temperature measurement apparatus 10 measures the temperature of the surface of slag through infrared light emitted from the surface of slag in a furnace. The apparatus includes a casing 11 to which light including infrared light and visible light is introduced. In the casing 11, a visible light separation mirror 13 having a hole section 13a is placed at the upstream side of an optical path, while a beam splitter 15 which is placed on an optical axis passing through the hole section and divides the infrared light out of the light into a plurality of optical paths and a plurality of thermopiles 18, 19 the divided infrared light enter by wavelength are placed at the downstream side of the optical path. The casing 11 further includes a signal processor 20 which measures the slag's liquid level temperature by calculating an energy ratio from the output voltage of the plurality of thermopiles 18, 19 and an observation window 21 which allows visual confirmation of the measurement field of view through visible light refracted by the visible light separation means.
