METHOD FOR MODIFYING COLOR PROFILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modifying a color profile for quickly and appropriately modifying the color profile without actually conducting printing work. SOLUTION: A color value Lab (1) is converted into a modified gradation value YMCK (2) by using a second table 22 in a printer profile P2. The gradation value YMCK (2) is then converted into a color value Lab (2) by using a first table 21 in the printer profile P2. Finally, the non-converted color value Lab (1) is compared with the converted color value Lab (2) to obtain a difference therebetween. Data of the second table 22 in the printer profile P2 are corrected on the basis of the difference. The accuracy of the second table 22 can be enhanced by re-executing these processes by using the modified second table 22 and by re-modifying the second table. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
