<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emission control system provided with continuously regenerating diesel particulate filter (DPF) to clean particulate matters (PM) in exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, for preventing clogging caused by deposition of the PM at upstream end parts of a catalyst carrier and thereby to prevent lowering of fuel economy and sudden stop and breakage of the engine. <P>SOLUTION: The emission control system 1 is provided with continuously regenerating DPF 3 to clean the PM in the exhaust gas of the engine. Oxidation catalyst is carried on honeycomb structural bodies 30, 30B. Positions of inlets 32a, 32b of cells 31a, 31b in the upstream end parts 30u, 30Bu of the honeycomb structural body 30 are longitudinally changed in an average inflow direction X of the exhaust gas to form the honeycomb structural bodies 30, 30B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
