PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module, capable of shortening leads for electrical signal of an optoelectric conversion element and facilitating the assembling operation. SOLUTION: The optical module comprises an element assembly module 2 with the optoelectric conversion element and is constituted so that the leads 10, 11 for electric signal of the optoelectric conversion element are protruded and formed respectively on wall surfaces 8P, 8L of the element assembly module 2 which are adjacent and vertical to each other. A circuit substrate 3, comprises at least first and second two substrate parts 17, 18 and a flexible wiring part 19 which connects the substrate parts 17, 18. The lead 11 for electrical signal, protruding from the wall surface 8P of the element assembly module 2, is connected and fixed to the first substrate part 17. The lead 10 for electrical signal, protruding from the wall surface 8L, is connected and fixed to the second substrate part 18 in a state of being inclined in the direction of getting near to the wall surface 8L of the element assembly module 2 with respect to the first substrate part 17 according to the bending of the flexible wiring part 19.
