PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor and a method for driving the same, in which fill-factor value is increased to improve a sensitivity of the image sensor. SOLUTION: The image sensor includes a pixel array with unit pixels N in rows and M in columns, where M and N are a natural number, and data output terminals "dataout" of the unit pixels 100 arranged on first and second column lines 10, 20, which are adjacent to each other, are connected to one common column bus. Furthermore, a power supply terminal VDD of each unit pixel may also be connected to one common power supply line. The areas occupied by the column bus and the VDD line is reduced to enlarge the area occupied by a photo-diode, thereby improving the sensitivity of the image sensor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
