PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic charge image developing toner which ensures suppressed fogging at high temperature and high humidity environment, and improved in offset resistance and durability, particularly in an electrostatic charge image development apparatus of an oilless fixing method, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The electrostatic charge image developing toner contains a binder resin, a colorant, a charge control agent and a release agent, wherein the binder resin contains 50-100 wt.% of a polyester, the colorant contains rosin and/or a rosin derivative, and the charge control agent contains salicylic acid or a zinc complex salt of a salicylic acid derivative. The method for manufacturing the electrostatic charge image developing toner includes a step of melting and kneading the starting materials of the electrostatic charge image developing toner, wherein the melting and kneading step is one, using an open-roll type kneading machine.
