PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semi-permeable membrane having a high solute removal performance, high water permeability and excellent durability, and a production method therefor. SOLUTION: The method for processing the semi-permeable membrane comprises a process of bringing the semi-permeable membrane having a separation function layer containing a primary amino group into contact with a reagent which reacts with the primary amino group to produce a diazonium salt or its derivative, and a process of bringing the semi-permeable membrane into contact with an oxidizing agent.
