PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamino compound and method for production of the same for polyimide resin imparting a high voltage retention from low temperature to high temperature range and small in generation of seizure in using as an alignment layer for liquid crystal display element. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the diamino compound expressed by general formula (1). The method for producing the diamino compound expressed by general formula (1) comprises reaction of a para-nitrobenzoyl halide derivative with a diphenylalkane derivative and then reduction of the carbonyl group and nitro group.
