PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device realizing cost reduction, size reduction, and improvement of strength of an apparatus on which the input device is mounted, by realizing size reduction and improvement of strength of a construction at a low cost without deteriorating detection performance by a detection electrode. SOLUTION: The input device 1 comprises a touch panel 5 having a display surface that input contents to be input, and a detector 6 detecting that the input contents displayed on the display surface is directed by an operator, and the detector 6 recognizes the contents input by the operator, by detecting variations in electrostatic capacitance caused from the finger of the operator approaching to the detection electrode 12 formed on an isolative circuit substrate 11. The detection electrode 12 is formed near an end of the circuit substrate 11 in the input device 1 and the circuit substrate 11 is arranged in a direction perpendicular to the display surface of the touch panel 5, and the end of the substrate that the detection electrode 12 is formed is arranged so as to contact or approach a surface opposed to the display surface of the touch panel 5, at a position approaching the display region of the input contents on the display surface.
