<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem, wherein using a conventional complex shape base substance, such as a white color chip LED used for the backlight for an LCD display of a cellular phone or a personal digital assistance requires a very advanced technology in producing a die assembly to increase a cost of the white color chip LED. <P>SOLUTION: Making a base, having a structure capable of taking out both the light which transmits through the wavelength converting layer and the light which does not transmit but is scattered and reflected, and as a result, an arrangement of the wavelength converting layer, which is simpler and can manufacture a small white color LED efficiently at a low cost, while using the conventional base substance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
