PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for correcting a seam-welded part of a welded can, by which an excessive correction-tape after correction is easily precisely separated at an end-part of a can body with a proper quantity. SOLUTION: A long-sized band-shaped correction tape 3 is let out and brought into contact with a preheated seam-welded part on the inner face of a can body 1, and the tape is pressed against and stuck to the seam-welded part by using pressurizing means 12a, 12b. Rotational rollers 16a, 16b, and the like apply tension force to an excessive correction tape 3 with a supporting point that is one end of the opening parts of the seam-welded part, on which the correction tape 3 is stuck, so that the excessive part of the correction tape 3 is separated.
