PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spunbond nonwoven fabric having both excellent bulkiness and strength. SOLUTION: The spunbond nonwoven fabric is obtained by subjecting a nonwoven fabric obtained by opening and entangling continuous filaments consisting essentially of a polyethylene terephthalate having≥0.63 intrinsic viscosity, and having 50-300 kg/m<SP>3</SP>bulk density to embossing. The single filament constituting the continuous filaments has 0.5-4 dtex size,≥4 cN/dtex tensile strength, 40-150% elongation,≤5% shrinkage in dry air at 180°C, and≥40Åapparent crystal size ACS(010) in the 010 face. The spunbond nonwoven fabric having≥2.50 N/5 cm strength per g/m<SP>2</SP>weight in the machine direction, and≥1.50 N/5 cm strength in the cross direction, or the nonwoven fabric having≥2,000 g/m<SP>2</SP>×24 hr moisture permeability and≥10 kPa water resistance (water-resisting pressure) can also be obtained.
