PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tantalum electrolytic capacitor that can keep air tightness even if subjected to high-temperature exposure during soldering and can be made compact in size and that is superior in mechanical reliability and electric characteristic. SOLUTION: The tantalum electrolytic capacitor 1 is provided with a ceramic container 6 wherein a recess 3-B and a wiring conductor therein are formed, a tantalum electrolytic capacitor element 2 that is provided with a positive electrode lead terminal 2b connected by welding with a first metallized layer 3a formed on the upper surface of a step 3-C and a negative electrode layer 2c connected electrically with a second metallized layer 3b, and a cover 4. In the positive electrode lead terminal 2b, its end is bent upward and the outer circumferential surface of a slantly upward slope is abutted with the end of the first metallized layer 3a and it is welded and bonded thereto.
