PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart sufficiently high heat disturbance resistance in the vicinity of room temperature and to realize high speed recording with a practical recording head by reducing the coercive force of a medium, that is, a magnetic field required for magnetization reversal, by irradiation with a light beam and an electron beam in a recording magnetic field applying part. SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with: a light emitting device as a heating source for raising the temperature of the recording part of a recording medium by heating; and a recording magnetic pole for recording magnetic information by applying a recording magnetic field to the recording part of the recording medium where temperature is elevated by the heating by the light emitting element. While the recording part where the temperature is elevated by the heating source passes through the recording magnetic field applied by the recording magnetic pole, a moment at which the coercive force of the recording part becomes smaller than the recording magnetic field is provided. When the distance between the trailing edge of the light emitting part of the light emitting device and the leading edge of the recording magnetic pole is represented by Dth and the distance between the leading edge and trailing edge of the light emitting part by L, a condition of Dth≤4L is satisfied.
