PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization which gives an olefin polymer having a wide molecular weight distribution while retaining, at a high level, polymerization activities and stereoregularity of the polymer. SOLUTION: The solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization comprises a combination of one or more solid components (a) comprising magnesium, titanium, halogen and a monocarboxylic acid ester and one or more solid components (b) comprising a magnesium compound, titanium, halogen and a dicarboxylic acid diester.
