PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutter head of a tunnel boring machine capable of boring a tunnel by changing a cutter head to a cutter head suitable for boring the tunnel in the tunnel when the tunnel with different boring directions such as pits and adits by one tunnel boring machine. SOLUTION: The ring-like outer peripheral cutter head part excavating the outer peripheral part of the tunnel is rotatably fitted to a boring machine body. When a pit is excavated, split cutter head pieces divided into multiple pieces to such a size that can be carried in through the machine are connected to the outer peripheral cutter head part to assemble a truncated conical-shaped center cutter head part suitable for excavating the pit. When an adit is excavated, the truncated conical-shaped center cutter head part is disassembled into the split cutter pieces and dismantled. The split cutter head pieces divided into multiple pieces to such a size that can be carried in through the machine are connected to the outer peripheral cutter head part to assemble a flat disk-like center cutter head part suitable for excavating the adit.
