摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lithium double oxide ultrafine particles having an average particle diameter of less than 100 nm and uniform in size for using as a positive electrode active substance for a lithium secondary cell, etc. SOLUTION: In this method, when a compound containing a lithium atom which forms a lithium double oxide, and a compound containing a metal atom other than lithium such as Co, Ni, Mn, Fe, etc., are mixed and sintered, the sintering temperature is kept under 618°C, and the number of lithium atoms in the compound containing the lithium atom is made considerably excessive, and the degree of excess is controlled so that the lithium double oxide ultrafine particle obtained is a spherical particle having an average diameter of not larger than 50 nm or a needle having a thickness (diameter) of not larger than 50 nm.
