PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope which can prevent a cover from being damaged when a balloon is fixed by making the cover at a section to which the balloon is fixed thicker, or providing a reinforcing ring on the cover. SOLUTION: On the insertion section 12 of this endoscope 10, the balloon 42 is fitted. The balloon 42 is formed into an approximately cylindrical shape, and is fixed to a bent section 48 of the insertion section 12 by winding a yarn on the end sections 42A and 42A of the balloon 42 as it remains inserted through the insertion section 12. An angle rubber 90 which is the cover of the bent section 48 has the reinforcing section 90A which is thicker, and the end section 42A of the balloon 42 is fixed to the reinforcing section 90A.
