Usability of a remote controller attached to a variety of electronic devices is improved. <??>An electronic device that operates when receiving a remote-control signal from a remote controller includes a control unit which.discriminates a device category and a code within the category of the remote-control signal received by a receiving unit and when the first device category code and the second device category code that are registered in advance are discriminated, the control unit judges each of the received codes to be efficient and issues a control command corresponding to the judged code, which controls operation within the device. <IMAGE> |
