PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information distribution system capable of distributing contents to a mobile terminal limited to an area, distributing contents guide information to the mobile terminal, and distributing contents selected by the mobile terminal to the area. SOLUTION: The information distribution system comprises an information distribution server 30, the mobile terminal 20, and a contents DB 40. The contents DB stores information of contents provided to the mobile terminal and information of an area to which the contents are provided, the information distribution server 30 distributes the contents guidance information to the mobile terminal 20, the mobile terminal 20 makes a contents distribution request on the basis of the contents guide information, the information distribution server 30 uses a position discrimination means 33 to discriminate the position of the mobile terminal 20 and permits downloading of the requested contents when the mobile terminal 20 is present in the distribution area.
