PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic apparatus capable of shortening the fixable temperature rising time of an induction heating roller and sharply reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: A fixing unit using induction heating is constituted so as to start power supply to an induction heating coil before the start of roller rotation by using both of a fixing roller driving signal and motor rotation detection, and when roller rotation can not be detected at prescribed time, stop the operation of the motor. Thus heating time can be shortened without supplying a large amount of power by starting power supply timing before rotation of the motor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
