PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new base for a main push device, which enables the direction of the main push device to be easily changed within a short period of time, without making the main push device removed and carried out onto ground. SOLUTION: The main push device J is arranged in a starting shaft H which is formed downward from underground, and pushes an excavator or a buried pipe body such as a shield cylinder. The device J is supported, and made rotatable in the starting shaft H by making a vertical direction serve as the axis of rotation.
