PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate necessity to provide an interface unit for each remote control apparatus desired to be remotely controlled. SOLUTION: An interface unit 6 is interposed between a home communication network L1 and a remote control apparatus, corresponds to a plurality of different protocols used for different remote control apparatuses, and uses at least one protocol for the remote control apparatus to output, through an interface 62, information which is obtained from a signal received with a protocol for the communication network L1 through an interface 61.
