PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient manufacturing process of a polyester having an improved color tone and heat stability. SOLUTION: The manufacturing process of a polyester comprises polycondensation of a product obtained by either an esterification or transesterification reaction between a dicarboxylic acid component with a diole component. The catalytic component comprising a major catalytic component (A) selected from Group IVA elements and a co-catalytic component (B) consisting of a compound (a) containing silicon atoms, a compound (b) containing at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Be, Mg, Ca, Zn, Sr, Ba, B, Al, Ga, Mn, Co, Ge and Sb and/or a compound (c) containing phosphurus atoms is used in the above process. The co-catalytic component (B) is preliminarily incorporated with an organic solvent and the co-catalytic solution is supplied to the reaction system. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
