<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber which has its bend loss reduced while having a mold field diameter of a conventional single mode optical fiber, and is suitable for fast, large-capacity optical transmission, and a fiber optic cable using the same. <P>SOLUTION: This optical fiber has a≥8.6μm mode field diameter at a wavelength of 1,310 nm,≤0.4 dB/km transmission loss at a wavelength of 1,280 to 1,625 nm, a 0.1 dB/turn loss increase due to bending of a diameter of 30 mm at a wavelength of 1,625 nm, an effective refractive index of≥1.44460 at a wavelength of 1,625 nm,≤0.31 dB/km transmission loss at a wavelength of 1,383 nm after hydrogen aging, and≤0.10 ps km<SP>-1/2</SP>polarization mode dispersion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
