PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a split sleeve for an optical connector, in which generation of positional deviation of split sleeve, that is caused whenever optical fibers are coupled, is prevented, fluctuation in connection loss hardly occurs and stable connection loss is achievable and to provide an optical connector using the sleeve and an assembling method of the optical connector. SOLUTION: The split sleeve has a slit 1a along the axial direction opened from one of the openings of a cylindrical body to the other opening. In the center section along the axial direction, a through-hole 1b is formed at the opposing section of the slit 1a, and a fixing hole to make connection to the through-hole of the split sleeve is provided on the inner peripheral surface of the adaptor that holds the split sleeve, and a fixing member is arranged in the fixing hole and the through-hole to realize the optical connector in which positional deviation of the split sleeve is eliminated.
