PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily inspect the conditions of internal degradation of overhead transmission lines. SOLUTION: X-rays are irradiated on an overhead transmission line 1, from two direction which form a right angle. An X-ray detecting part 3 receives transmitted X-rays which have transmitted through the overhead transmission line, to directly or indirectly acquire two transmission images from the two directions which form a right angle and inspect the conditions of internal degradation, such as breakage of strands and corrosion of the overhead transmission line. The apparatus causes few difficulties in use about its management, environment, etc. In addition, the apparatus is inexpensive and compact and provides satisfactory inspection workability.
