PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire carcass-reinforcing ultrafine wire steel cord capable of being used for a carcass of a tire, by together twining many strands of ultrafine steel element wires each having a diameter of 0.04-0.14 mm, and to provide a passenger car radial tire to which the same is applied. SOLUTION: This steel cord has a steel cord structure of a (1+n) structure (n=2 to 9) formed by together twining many strands of the steel element wires and is composed of one strand of steel element core wire and 4 to 7 strands of steel element side wires, wherein the core wire has a strand diameter of 0.04-0.14 mm and the side wires are spirally wound around an outer peripheral surface of the core wire along its axis and each have a strand diameter of 0.04-0.14 mm, so that the steel cord has a final diameter of 0.2-0.5 mm, after together twined.
