PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which detects a correct center point position of an optical disc mounted on a disc tray in a shorter time than when a conventional device is used and without advancing the disc tray to the outside of a recording device, in the recording device equipped with the disc tray internally installed in such a way that the disc tray is movable in a subscan direction, and a recording control program. SOLUTION: In this recording device, an X coordinate value MXR1 in a first right end part position and an X coordinate value MXL1 in a first left end part position are acquired by scanning a first main scanning line with a PW sensor 34. Next, an X coordinate value MXR2 in a second right end part position and an X coordinate value MXL2 in a second left end part position are acquired by scanning a second main scanning line with a PW sensor 34. When a Y coordinate value of the first main scanning line is given as Y1 and a Y coordinate value of the second main scanning line as Y2, an X coordinate value Xc and a Y coordinate value Yc at the center point of the optical recording disc, are calculated by the following formula: Xc=(MXR1+MXL1)/2=(MXR2+MXL2)/2, Yc=Y2+(((MX2)<SP>2</SP>-(MX1)<SP>2</SP>-(Y2-Y1)<SP>2</SP>)/2(Y2-Y1)).
