PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which executes the format conversion of inputted image data in real time without having an extra buffer for saving data of a previous line required for the averaging in format conversion. SOLUTION: The image processor comprises a format conversion post circuit 100 for outputting YUV image data after the YUV format conversion to a result output buffer upon input of YUV image data having a plurality of lines. This post circuit 100 includes a circuit which reads the value of the U- or V-component of one input line previous outputted to the result output buffer 120, takes the averaging of the read averaging value to the U- or V-component of the present input line, and overwrites the obtained averaging value on an averaging value region of the read U- or V-component out of the result output buffer.
