The estimated torque of the threshold lagging ignition, corresponding to the threshold lagging ignition timing in each case, is calculated, in addition to the MBT estimated torque corresponding to the MBT (optimal ignition timing) is calculated in each case. The amplitude quantity of the air/oil ratio in the dither control of the air-oil ratio is calculated, based on the above calculated demanded torque, the MBT estimated torque and the estimated threshold lagging ignition torque.
