<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of maintenance work of a filter for catching and storing toner by stably reducing toner scatter despite lapse of time. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: developing sections 23Y, 23M, 23C, and 23BK which are subjected to maintenance at a predetermined cycle; and an exchange unit 75 which is provided with a filter 76 for catching and storing the toner and which is exchanged and installed in the main part 1 of the image forming apparatus at a cycle shorter than the maintenance cycles of the developing sections 23Y, 23M, 23C, and 23BK. The gas in the developing sections 23Y, 23M, 23C, and 23BK flows into the exchange unit 75 through a gas transport passage 71 and flows out to the outside of the exchange unit 75 through the filter 76. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
