<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound machine which can efficiently realize a device function application. <P>SOLUTION: In a compound machine having a plurality of image processing functions, image communication functions and a plurality of device functions, a request from a user is regarded as an operation of a document, a handling plan of the document for realizing a function requested by the user and a domain for planning an image conversion are set.
