PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera monitoring system finding out a past recorded video image for a monitoring target and supervising variance of color tone etc. with a television monitoring camera, without being affected by photographing condition such as weather data. SOLUTION: When a video image is recorded, data for photographing such as the date and time of photographing, camera settings, weather data, and optical source condition data etc. are recorded in a file 5a of a data server 5, in addition to a video image information. During monitoring, the content in the data server 5 is retrieved to read a recorded video image similar to the present monitoring video image. Then, difference between the read-out recorded data such as optical source condition data and weather data etc. and the corresponding present data or discrepancy concerning the video image information such as difference in a monitoring camera 1 is corrected.
