PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic memory which can be operated with less electric power by reducing an amount of electric current required for recording information. SOLUTION: The magnetic memory comprises a magnetic storage element which at least has a storage layer 1 for storing information depending on the magnetized state of a magnetic material, and an interconnection 10 for applying a magnetic field to the magnetic storage element. The magnetic material 11 is arranged around the interconnection 10, and a hard magnetic material 12 or a magnetic material whose magnetization direction is fixed by an antiferromagnetic material is arranged on the magnetic storage element side of the interconnection 10.
