PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sure engagement with a pickup base without applying a strong pressing force to a lead screw. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an optical pickup device having a pickup base 114, a pickup moving mechanism 104 having a lead screw 140 for moving the pickup base 114, a side wall 227 attached to the pickup base 114 and having an engaging projected part 221 engaged with the lead screw 140, and an engaging member 220 having a housing part 222 in which a gap formation member 223 for maintaining a distance to hold engagement between the engaging projected part 221 and the lead screw 140 by supporting the inside of the side wall 227 is housed, and a hinge part 233 disposed in the base end of the side wall 227 to displace the side wall 227 in a direction for contact with/separation from the lead screw 140.
