PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment ring support and a shape holding method of a segment ring, capable of correcting circularity of the segment ring by a simple device and a method. SOLUTION: The segment ring 27a is assembled in a shield machine 29. The segment ring support 1 is inserted into a tail clearance 39 from the cutting face 31 side by arranging a lubricant 5 stuck to a bag body 15 on the segment ring 27a side. Air 23 is supplied inside (21) the bag body 15 via an air supply connecting pipe 11 and an air supply metal fitting 9. While applying pressure from the outside to the segment ring 27a by the air 23 in the bag body 15, the shield machine 29 is advanced for boring while sliding the segment ring support 1 to the segment ring 27a.
