PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coated paper having folding and cracking resistance suitability and excellent printing suitability. SOLUTION: The coated paper is provided with a paper substrate and a coating layer consisting essentially of a pigment and an adhesive and provided on at least one surface thereof. In the coated paper, the ratio (=T/Y) of the tensile strength (T) in the machine direction to the tensile strength (Y) in the cross direction by JIS P 8113 is≥1.5, an internal bonding strength by JAPAN TAPPI No. 18 is≤2.0 kgf×cm, and the coated paper has≥2.5% elongation when the tensile strength in the machine direction is exhibited, 50-80% 75°specular glossiness by JIS P 8142 and≤7,000 sec air permeability by JIS P 8117.
