PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus easily and accurately separating a hand-written part of an original. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes: a line segment detection section 12a for detecting line segments of a prescribed length or above from received image data; a color spectrum detection section 12b for detecting the color spectrum of the detected line segments; and an image data separation unit 12c for discriminating part of the original having the same color spectrum as that of the detected line segments to be an original part in the image data and discriminating the other part of the original having the different color spectrum from that of the detected line segments as a hand-written part.
